MODERN REQUIREMENTS AND FEATURES OF PROFESSIONAL TRAINING OF FUTURE DESIGNERS IN HIGHER EDUCATION INSTITUTIONS

Abstract

The article describes the modern requirements for the professional training of future designers. It has been found out that the professional activity of a designer is a type of creative activity in the formation of aesthetically expressive object-space environment aimed at creating and improving competitive products, which contributes to economic development, raising the level of culture and living standard of the population. The main goal has been identified: to prepare a competitive, competent designer who will be able to apply the acquired knowledge, skills and experience as well as to make original and non-standard decisions that will allow them to quickly and efficiently complete the tasks related to creating design objects.
We have compiled the list of professional tasks to be performed by a modern designer, participating in the production and technological process, which includes: 1) use of various means of visualization of creative ideas, in particular to develop and execute sketches, design projects and objects of design based on methods of artistic design, ergonomics and anthropometry through fine arts techniques, project graphics, digital technologies, etc.; 2) apply knowledge in the field of engineering design, modeling and layout, technologies of production of design objects (to develop models or working diagrams; to prepare the technological documentation of the project for its launch into production; to oversee manufacturing of products and their conformity to the original sample; to evaluate the manufacturability of the project-design solutions; to set tasks to the technologist, the designer, etc.); 3) to manage design projects, to organize activities of design firms and studios, to carry out mini-marketing researches, etc.
The article identifies the basic professional competences and personality qualities of future designers that should be formed in the educational process at a higher education institution based on the analysis of scientific and theoretical works of scientists and the actual practice of design education.
