Abstract

Aim. The aim of the article is selection and analysis of the preconditions for formation of some new forms of modern choreographic art: plastic installation, performance and happening.
Methodology. The specifics of the artistic decision of choreographers’ work with the space were examined and analyzed. Original choreographers’ versions correlate with the time requirements, its own realization and esthetic priorities of the age, as it was showed on the examples of scenery usage.
Findings. The period of the development of some new plastic techniques of dancing (modern, postmodern) was analyzed, where as a precursor was taken impressionism of the previous age (in the art through the works of cubism). The comparative studies of the next forms: installation, performance and happening were conducted according to the traditions of the fine arts in manifestation of vanguard or conceptual arts, which overcome all the bounds between the artist and the audience. Accordingly, considering the condition of creation and functioning of the installation in the synthesis of different types of arts, we can draw a conclusion that plastic of choreography becomes a real creative language of the body and has all rights to exist within the form «installation». The choreographic installation can be identified as a new form of art, created according to the needs of modernity, and, exactly, the process of installation of the dance in conditions of «installation-construction», «installation-sound» or improvised plastic in relations to the problem of space construction. They may become a component for creation of some work-installations or turn into performance or even happening. The conditions, also, will become periodicity or lasting process, self-sufficiency, possible spectator’s absence or presence, reasonable action in the context of construction.
Novelty. In postmodern experience the process of work creation is not less important than the result and it becomes an art. In this way, we underline the period of formation of one of the new forms of plastic art – plastic installation, and we see the reasonability of subsequent study of this question.
Practical importance. In the experiment «plastic installation» dance will not be an end in itself, but will become a factor which reflects events increasing influence of integrity of the dance. Also, it’s very important to emphasize the structure of the installation and performance. If your task is to show your attitude to the structure and you have a real possibility to make an improvisation – we name it performance. If you are bound up with the structure of the dance and the quality of the structure depends on you plastic where you cannot improvise – we name it «installation». Heterogeneous phenomenon, even created artificially, may become the specific feature of the form of installation. We should take into consideration the picture or fragment which is taken separately should be suitable at the new place. Long term demonstration of the structure of installations, self-sufficiency and independence of their existence (the absence of audience is allowed) assume some periodicity or cyclicity. The work on such composition may lead to the creation of a project which corresponds to the needs of modern art or some cultural protest against present-day state of culture.
In 21st century people are in a search of some new ways for expression of their own attitude towards the changeable world. That’s why old formats of art sometimes become unsuitable in modern world. Moves, plastic and body now are the ways for self-realization of person’s creativity. This approach is realized in our creative cooperation of the Kharkov State Academy of Culture and The Center of Modern Art «YermilovCenter».
