THE PEDAGOGICAL MUSEUM AS A FORM OF IMPROVING THE TEACHER'S PEDAGOGICAL SKILLS: A HISTORICAL ASPECT

Abstract

The article describes the historiography of the creation of pedagogical museums of the 19th century. In order to increase the professional skills of teachers, attention is paid to the leading trends in the development of the first Pedagogical Museums. The content, organizational forms and methods of work of the first pedagogical museums of Ukraine and Russia of the nineteenth century are characterized. The educational activities of the Pedagogical Museums and the experience of the Pedagogical Museums in improving the professional skills of teachers are revealed.
The activity of the Pedagogical Museum to improve the professional skill of teachers was not limited to lectures by famous scientists and educators, organization of stationary and mobile thematic exhibitions, the formation of a system of subject departments, the creation of study rooms, the publication of various textbooks and textbooks. Specificity of the museum space provided the opportunity to research directly with visual aids and educational materials from the museum's holdings.
For many years, the Pedagogical Museum served as an exemplary scientific and methodological center that spread the best achievements of Russian pedagogy, psychology, and pedology. Outside the Museum, prominent scientists, educators, psychologists, educators and public figures of the country concentrated. Museum-pedagogical general education programs were designed for all sections of the population, people of all ages and educational backgrounds, who could be organically involved in the educational process.
Experience of pedagogical museums of the second half of XIX - beginning of XX centuries can become the basis for the formation of communicative tools of modern pedagogical museums, the need for which is becoming more apparent in the context of modern information globalization. Of particular relevance are the educational programs of the museum, focused on improving the quality of teaching and upbringing of teachers, museum training courses for teachers and teacher educators.
