THE ESSENCE AND PECULIARITIES OF THE DEVELOPMENT OF THE ANALYTIC ACTIVITY OF THE SOCIAL WORKER
Abstract
Introduction. The article deals with the problems of clarifying the value of a social worker’s analytical-generalizing activity, focusing on modern approaches and trends of social work development, modern qualification requirements, put to specialists in this sphere. In particular, tendencies towards modern models and quality criteria of social worker are analyzed, strengthening the humanistic, personality directed component.
Purpose. The necessity of intensifying the function of intercession (mediation), subject-subjective relations of social worker and client in solving social problems, conflict situations is argued.
Results. The position regarding the necessity of intensifying activity on special purposeful development / self-development of social worker’s analytical-generalizing competences, starting from the process of his professional formation, is substantiated. The model of a modern successful social worker is associated with the ability to perform productive analytical work: independent comprehensive analysis of the leading tendencies in the social policy sphere, each specific situation, which in the complex determines the readiness to independently program the logic and method of solving the conflict situation.
Methods. Analytical and generalizing activity is interpreted as a mechanism and method of a social object (situation, problem) complex cognition by the logic of three-level actions: a) primary, subjective perception with appropriate emotional and semantic support; b) decomposition into components and their elemental comprehension, identification of the components’ essential characteristics and the nature of their interaction in the object (process); c) synthetic and generalizing actions, taking into account the qualitatively new information received and its exteriorization in own experience and practical activity.
Originality. In this way the generally accepted approaches to structuring and development of analytic-synthetic, analytical-generalizing activity were adapted to the peculiarities of the social worker’s professional formation and development. They received appropriate interpretation and semantic content.
Conclusion. The results of the research are equally relevant for the system of the social workers’ professional training of and their professional development and self-development in the system of postgraduate education.
